I recently received this South Australia special issue from a fellow collector. This non reflective SA motorcycle plate was used in an Australian cross country motorcycle rally some time ago issued to the Taylor Team who participated in this rally. Do any of you folks Down Under shed me some light on this plate, the rally and when???

Top 10 Health And Fitness Tips ? Get In The Best Shape Of Your Life

Below are our top 10 health and fitness tips, in no particular order. From healthy eating habits to exercise programs, these health and fitness tips will help you get smarter about weight loss, wellness and healthy living overall.

1. Drink more water. You hear this all the time and there?s a reason for that ? because it?s important! Drinking water curbs your hunger, hydrates your body and nourishes you from the inside out, including your skin. Aim for half your body weight in ounces per day. i.e. if you weigh 150 lbs, you would aim to drink 75 ounces of water per day.

2. For faster fat loss and a stronger heart, try sprint interval training. The basic format of sprint interval training is sprint/walk/sprint/walk, etc. Pick a stretch of road that is flat for 50 yards ? sprint the 50 yards, walk back slowly, repeat ? do this 10 times. Make sure you?re warmed up before you start sprinting and that you warm down when you?re done. Sprint interval training boosts your metabolism, burns more fat, and takes less time to complete.

3. Stay away from sugar! When you consume sugar, it causes your body to release insulin ? and insulin causes your body to store fat. That?s why those fat-free cookies with extra sugar are actually causing you to gain weight. Read the ingredients label and stay away from products heavy in sugar and high fructose corn syrup. ?Healthy? breakfast cereals and bars are notorious for being high in these two ingredients.

4. Add more of the following foods to your diet: whole grains, olive oil, eggs, natural peanut butter, fish, poultry, berries, apples, almonds, protein powder and water. These foods will help you burn more fat, stay in shape and better your health.

5. Add weight training to your exercise routine. Adding muscle to your body increases your life span, makes you stronger and burns fat. If you?re looking to tone up, use a weight that you can lift 8-12 times; if you?re looking to add bulk, use a weight you can lift 4-6 times. Weight train 2-3 times per week and keep your weight training sessions to 45 minutes max.

6. At a minimum, add a quality multivitamin to your diet and fish oil softgels (omega-3 fatty acids). Most people don?t get a sufficient amount of vitamins and minerals from foods alone so it?s important you compliment your healthy eating habits with a strong multi. The fish oil softgels are important because most people?s diets are severely lacking in omega-3 fatty acids and this is suspected to be a contributing factor to many health diseases, including obesity. Fish oil softgels are the easiest way to add omega-3?s to your diet ? consume 2,000 to 3,000 mg of omega-3?s per day.

7. Add more Wild Alaskan salmon to your diet. It?s extremely high in protein and omega-3 fatty acids, and low in fat ? an incredibly healthy combination. And Wild Alaskan salmon is very low in mercury, the one problem with regular salmon.

8. Stay away from foods that contain hydrogenated oils and processed foods altogether. Hydrogenated oils, or trans fats, wreck havoc on your body and some states are even banning them. Read the ingredients of the food you are eating ? it will indicate if it contains hydrogenated oils ? and if it does, toss it! Processed foods are the chemically-altered, packaged foods like many of the foods targeted towards kids nowadays. Usually you can tell a food is processed if the ingredients show a list of chemicals a mile long.

9. A simple way to keep your weight under control is stop eating before you?re full. Portion control is an easy way to make sure you don?t over eat and gain weight. If you continuously eat until your uncomfortably full, you?ll consume too many calories and stretch your stomach out, causing you to eat more often.

10. Give yoga a try because you?ll be amazed at the difference it makes when your body is limber and flexible, plus it will help reduce your chances of injury. Yoga consists of 15-20 minutes of deep stretching and usually meditation. Your body will feel younger and you?ll have less stress ? combine this with cardio, weight training and a healthy diet, and in 12 weeks you?ll be in the best shape of your life.

Romney: Rebuild defense, add 100,000 troops (AP)

MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. ? Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney said Thursday America must not economize on security but rather strengthen national defense by rebuilding the Navy and Air Force and adding 100,000 active duty personnel.

"You would think that the president and the people in Washington would recognize the importance of the United States military and the need not to shrink our military budget but strengthen it," the former Massachusetts governor said. He was speaking to about 60 veterans gathered on the hanger deck of the World War II-era aircraft carrier USS Yorktown.

Romney said that the defense budget is now about 3.8 percent of the nation's gross domestic product and he would like to see that figure rise to 4 percent. "I don't believe we can economize on securing our nation," he said in the conservative, early primary state of South Carolina.

Romney's remarks were a preview of a foreign policy address he will deliver Friday across town at another iconic military setting, The Citadel, the state's military college. On Thursday, Romney released the names of 22 advisers with whom he will consult on foreign policy issues.

The former governor acknowledged that there is waste in defense spending, adding "my life in the private sector taught me to go after waste and economize, and there is an opportunity to do that."

But he said he wouldn't, as European nations have done, reduce defense and put the savings into social programs.

Romney said the Navy needs more than 300 ships. "We're down to 285 now and we're heading to the low 200s. We can't fulfill our naval missions at those levels," he said.

He said the Air Force is "smaller and older in terms of average age of our equipment than in 1947" and said he would add 100,000 active duty troops to ease the frequent troop rotations in and out of Iraq and Afghanistan.

"These high rotations we are seeing, we should not have to demand of our National Guard and active duty personnel," he said.

He said he would also insure "we treat our veterans the way our veterans deserve to be treated. Not just those of the past, but those of the present who are coming back and suffering from serious wounds."

'Dancing' delivers a surprising cut in week 3

It's only the third week of "Dancing With the Stars" season 13, and already we have a surprising elimination.

Proving once again that the show is about fan bases and not about actual dancing ability, voters sent "The Hills" star Kristin Cavallari home despite the respectable 24 points she earned from the judges for her sassy samba on Monday. The score landed her in the middle of the leaderboard, but miles ahead of Chaz Bono's 18 points for a rumba that was more standing than dancing.

'H8R' to 'DWTS' pro Maks: 'You're being a $#*%'

"This is truly crazy," griped head judge Len Goodman (aka Mr. Scrunchy Face) when Kristin and pro partner Mark Ballas, and soccer star Hope Solo and pro Maks Chmerkovskiy were left standing under the spotlights of shame. "My expectations were that these two couples would be fighting for the finals, and maybe one of them going home with the mirror ball."

OK, maybe having them in the finals is a bit of a stretch, but both certainly deserved to stick around for a while longer. Was Kristin's samba flawless? Hardly. But she shook her groove thang as best as she could, while Hope went out on a limb and tried for a sexy rather than athletic number. (She received a generous 24 for the effort.) But the point is that both ladies actually danced.

Chaz? Chaz barely moved. The author and activist struck a pose here and there, but that's not dancing. Can he actually dance? Perhaps. His first effort in week one wasn't bad at all! But the painful knee issues seem to be taking a major toll on his performances and are landing him at the bottom of the scoreboard.

Fans of the show aren't exactly pleased with the latest results either. "Well, that was shocking ... and wrong," reader Debra Chandler wrote on our Facebook page after the elimination.

But there is an upside of sorts to keeping Chaz for another week. As he pointed out himself, his mom, Cher, will be in the ballroom to cheer him on next week. Perhaps he'll do better after a little bit of rest for his knees and with someone important in his life being in the room to root for him.

There are few ways of endearing yourself to the geek world more quickly than writing a song like "Code Monkey." The developer-friendly track was one of 52 released as part of Jonathan Coulton's year-long "Thing a Week" project and was later adopted as the theme song for a similarly-titled G4 program. The songwriter was just adhering to that old adage of "writing what you know," having worked as a full-time computer programmer prior to giving the music world a go -- though, as he readily admits, he still keeps it real by coding for his own site. We sat down with Coulton as part of this month's Engadget Show, discussing his midlife crisis-driven decision to quit his day job and the journey that the internet played in making him a star. We also discussed the musician's favorite tech, his love of Creative Commons and using gadgets to make music. Coulton also treated us to three songs, including "Still Alive" from the Portal soundtrack and two tracks off his brand new record Artificial Heart. Video of all that after the break.
